Interview with the child Maysoon I Wadah
Interview is done by Mrs. Amal, teacher at Zaitun Elementry School in Gaza

Teacher:   Good afternoon Maysoon
Maysoon: Good afternoon Mrs. Amal
Teacher:   How are you today?
Maysoon: Fine, thanks
Teacher:   Listen Maysoon, today I’ll talk with you about some facts of your life to know what things and requirements are
              you in need to, ok?
Maysoon: Allright. Go on …
Teacher:   First of all, can you introduce yourself, please?
Maysoon: Ok, I’m Maysoon I Wadah, I’m Palestinian from Gaza, I’m eleven years old in grade six. I learn at El-Zaitun
              Primary Co-ed School –c-
Teacher:   Let’s begin with your life at home. Does your father work?
Maysoon: Very rarely, you know that most of the Palestinians suffer from hard unemployment.
Teacher:   What about your mother, brothers? Does anybody work else?
Maysoon: No, only my father.
Teacher:   Do you need some essential things that you want to be found in your daily life  at home?
Maysoon: Oh, you mean a lot and many things, not “some”, don’t you?
Teacher:   Yes, Maysoon.
Maysoon: Look my dear teacher. I live with a big family in a very simple and small house that lacks many important things
to be healty enough for us to live in as enough rooms, suitable healty circumstances, adequate food and suitable
              clothes.
Teacher:   Are there other things else?
Maysoon: Look, I dream that I have personal computer, enough money to buy additional books and stories to read in the
              spare time.
Teacher:   Let’s move to school. Are you in need to anything?
Maysoon: Oh really I need a lot of things, for example, I wish I had a new uniform, new shoes, a bag, notebooks, pencils,
pens and I need also money to buy sandwiches, sweets ans juice as my friends.
Teacher:   Do these things affects your study?
Maysoon: Certainly, can you imagine how I could concentrates on my lessons while I’m suffering from hunger, cold,
because I don’t have a jacket and I haven’t even a shekel to buy some sweets.
Teacher:   You are right. Do you get any help from your school?
Maysoon: Yes, sometimes, but there is a large number of student who are suffering from simular circumstances and I’m
sure that I have a lot of friends who are very sad and tired from poverty and deprition.
Teacher:   Do you think that the lack of these important things affect your health?
Maysoon: Needless to say that if you don’t eat and wear well, you won’t be able to do a lot of school activities, you won’t
be succesfull and optimistic like other people who have at least these priorities, such as there is no clubs,
computers, tools, sportgames enough at school.
Teacher:   Finally Maysoon, what are your dreams?
Maysoon: Firstly, I dream that I live in a real peace. Then my immidiate dream is to have what I need to persume my
study effectively and I wish that I could obtain many aids from able people in order to fulfil my dreams as well as
              my friends.
Teacher: So am I. I hope you could have what you want and I hope we as teachers will have the essential aids to be able
to help our students as much as we can. Thanks a lot Maysoon and Goodbye.
Maysoon: Goodbye.
